Dog Anxiety: Causes, Signs & What Actually Helps
Many dogs show clear signs of dog anxiety, including pacing, panting, and seeking constant reassurance. If your dog paces, whines, […]

Jaime Campiz Playground is a community-centric recreational area located on Marcy Ave in Brooklyn, New York. This pet-friendly public space is known more for its children’s playground and community garden, but it is a spot dog owners in Brooklyn occasionally consider for a walk or casual outing. The playground features swings, a climbing wall, picnic seating, checker tables, and a welcoming green space—making it a neighborhood hub for families and those seeking a peaceful retreat in the city.
While this playground boasts several amenities for families and community gardeners, it is not a dedicated dog park and does not feature fenced, off-leash, or separated dog-specific areas. Dog owners should be aware that the space is surrounded by busy streets, and reviews highlight the need for attentive supervision. Shade and seating are available, and the green space is ideal for a quick stroll with your leashed dog. The playground is also close to local shops and cafes, adding to its neighborhood charm. Its multicultural, urban vibe and the thriving community garden make it a unique slice of Brooklyn life.
Let my toddler use the swings briefly, but probably not coming back here. It was uncomfortable with the homeless shopping carts and people tripping nearby. Even if they had elsewhere to go, the actual equipment of the playground didn’t look clean or maintained, and the space also felt weirdly barren, like they ran out of money and could afford a tiny gym. No other family/kids were using the space despite it being a nice weekend.

This park is overrun by rats, people smoking weed and the homeless. It is not and never has been a family friendly park. Over the years, they have made improvements with the play space but I do not feel comfortable bringing my toddler there to play.

Took my kids over the weekend. There are two gyms and a small climbing wall. Plenty of picnic seating and chess/checkers tables. There’s also a shady baby swing area and a separate big kid swing area. The sprinklers were on.
There were some sketchy folk around the bathrooms but in all it was clean and maintained.

A nice playground for kids during the day , different ages – but it is surrounded by busy roads with plus the sounds for the car. Has everything kids love , plus sprinklers for the summer…

Local kid playground, parents bring there little one’s here in the mid-afternoon hours. (swings, slides & ect..)My only concern is that you need to keep your eyes on your kids due to, this playground is on a very busy traffic street. So if the little one runs out the park, it could be an accident. They also have a basketball court as well where the teens, young adults come to play also.
