The kayak launch adds another layer of activity, and frequent positive reviews mention the area’s beauty during both wet and dry seasons, as well as the peaceful, uncrowded setting.
Beautiful place, board walk needs some work. The kayak launch is in good condition. Restrooms are clean.
It was exceptionally beautiful. My family and I went while it was still a little flooded but it was still amazing. You could walk the entire boardwalk except for the very last bit that was completely submerged. Its a good…. I’d say half mile? Walk maybe more. It was very informative with the signs posted on the walk. It is also all shady so it wasn’t unbearably hot. Make sure you sign the paper on the way in! Oh one more thing! Please be careful on the walk. It is generally well maintained but there are a few spots where the wood has rotted away. Nothing more than a piece of a board here and there.
We’re waiting for spring water to subside so we can get closer to these monster cypress trees. Gorgeous peaceful place.
Very cool experience. The trees are bigger than you’d think. When I came, I was expecting the facilities and signs and stuff to be broken down, but everything was well maintained. The best part though was the fact that there wasn’t a single other person there. Very underrated.
This is worth the trip in the wet season and the dry season. I’ve been here 3 times in less than 6 months and it’s been wonderful each time. It’s not crazy long and the boardwalk is wide enough for a wheelchair. Pictures are of dry and wet season
