Welcome to Amherst Dog Park, located on Old Belchertown Road just outside downtown Amherst, Massachusetts. This well-kept, fully fenced dog park offers expansive areas for both large and small dogs to play safely off-leash. With a friendly community, clean grounds, and responsible pet owners, this dog park is a top choice for those searching for a dog-friendly outing in the Pioneer Valley.
The amenities at Amherst Dog Park cater to both pets and their humans. Features include separate enclosures for small and large dogs, high fencing for security, multiple benches and large rocks for owners to relax, and a dog water fountain to keep pups hydrated. Shade sails provide cover from the sun, and ongoing volunteer maintenance ensures the park remains welcoming and clean. The park is also wheelchair accessible, making it easy for everyone to enjoy a day outdoors with their canine companions.
Great place to get the dogs off leash. The fences are high and there are large areas for both large and small dogs. Water fountains too
I moved up here amost 2 years now. Found this dog park and it’s a great spot!
This is a REALLY well-kept park! The Friends group makes a lot of effort to keep it nice. Goid sized space with grass and a peastone center section. Shade sails are set up further into the park (and I’ve been told that there are plans to add more, closer to the entrances). Water, bags, trash. Super friendly and welcoming people and dogs
Clean, welcoming, easy access! I love that it has a big and small side. Plenty of space for dogs to roam and run. The place is well kept and even has a dog water fountain which is amazing. It has 4 benches and even large rocks for sitting. I love the regulars and everyone is very responsible when it comes to picking up after and watching their dogs interacting. Since I moved I couldn’t go as much as I used to but its worth the 30 minute drive!
We go almost every day. It’s a wonderful welcoming community for dogs and their humans. It’s clean and well tended ( by volunteers) It also has a big and small dog designation which helps newer pups or this who have just begun to socialize. We love 💕 the park. 🐾
