Basha Kill is a peaceful and beautiful spot I discovered during my trip to New York. It’s very quiet, full of nature, and perfect for a relaxing walk.
The trails are easy to follow, the views are amazing, and you can hear birds everywhere. It’s a great place to take a break, enjoy fresh air, and feel calm.
If you love nature and want to see a different side of New York, I really recommend this place!

The Bashakill is a favorite walking destination at any time of the year. It has lots of wildlife and pretty views. Its an old track bed so entirely flat. It can be muddy at many times of the year. Many parking locations. Across from Baskakill Winery is a popular spot…eagles off to left side of that parking. This is the best kayak launch. Half amile past the winery on the left is a local waterfall that flows great at this time of year and dries up in summer. Todays pics come from the hike off the parking area just past the falls. Go left at trail head…very pretty.

Beautiful spot to catch sunrise or sunset, I parked on a gravel indent on the side of the road. However there are a lot of no parking signs…🤷‍♂️

Typically love this place. Amazing views and kayak here frequently. Current conditions review/warning. Heads up to any folks looking for fall fishing… There are dozens and dozens of dead fish (bass?) throughout the southern tip of the lake. The decaying fish smell is also evident through most of that area.

If you love nature this is the spot for you. People go fishing here and to take pictures of the wildlife. You can also bike like we do and walk the trails. Today we went to pick up trash around the Bashakill trail and there wasn’t a lot to see on the actual path. We parked right across from the Bashakill Vineyard. Most of the trash is buried in and around the water. (For those people that love to throw balloons up to heaven, please know that your balloon doesn’t make it that far and ends up in the water instead)
You will see a lot of birds and geese. I saw a deer and a beaver too but wasn’t fast enough to take a picture.
