Fort Marcy Dog Park, located just south of the tennis courts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, offers a clean, well-maintained off-leash environment for dog owners. The park features two fully fenced areas—one for small dogs and one for large dogs—each surfaced with mulch and wood chips, making it comfortable for active play. The large dog area includes agility equipment and plenty of space for running and games like fetch, while the small dog area is perfect for pint-sized pups to socialize and explore safely.
Visitors will find benches for seating—some shaded, some in the sun—so owners can relax while their pets enjoy the dog-friendly amenities. Although there isn’t an on-site water fountain, guests are encouraged to bring their own water during visits. Ample shade and natural cover are available, and the park is praised for its cleanliness. While parking is shared with the sports complex and may require a short walk down stairs and over a bridge, the community atmosphere and pet-friendly features make this a favorite stop for local dog lovers looking for a great dog park in Santa Fe, NM.
Nice dog park. There are equipments inside the big park but no equipments in the small dog area though.
Smaller dog park, but hell it was enough room for our hyper girl to run around today! BRING WATER! Get a jug filled you will need the extra water. We didn’t spot a water spot for refills but we did bring a big cup of water just in case. People and dogs were very friendly. Our girl was revving the dog gang up today and they got a lot of running in. There are a few obstacles out for some play!
This was probably the lamest dog park we tried in Santa Fe.
The parking is terrible because it shares a parking lot with a whole sports complex. There is not parking right by the dog park itself.
It’s the smallest dog park too, even though they had plenty of space to make it much bigger.
On top of that, there was a woman there with her dog that kept telling every new person that her dog didn’t like other dogs. Don’t go to a dog park if your dog can’t handle being around other dogs.
Nice little fun dig park. There’s a little dog obstacle course there, pretty cool. The ground is dirt and wood chips so that’s nice and there’s actually quite a bit of room for big dogs to run and play fetch or ‘tag’haha
There is also a big dog park and small dog park at this location, side by side, over by the tennis courts. And that’s where you want to park, by the tennis courts; the dog parks are directly south of the tennis courts, you can’t miss them.
Nice dog park has 2 benches one in shade one in sun – two different fenced areas one for small dogs one for large – both have lots of mulch and the park is really clean even has agility course in large dog area – the park is down a hill from road coming in and you walk from parking lot down stairs & over a bridge to get to dog park. More dogs need to come enjoy this wonderful park!! 🐕🙂
