Visitors love the elevation changes, diverse vegetation (including a unique star anise grove), and the refreshing creek ideal for a cool dip or some light fishing.

There’s a marked trail for hiking. You can also swim and fish in the creek. Definitely one of my favorite places to spend a day.

This trailhead starts with about a one mile stretch of gravel road. The area appears to have been logged years back so there is no shade and it can be tough in Alabama summer. Once past that there are some moderate hills leading into the forest which is not very traveled so pay close attention to the blazers. They could be more frequent and better colored but the blazers work. Lots of elevation change and nice version on this trail. I personally love the small star anise grove by the creek. Smells amazing there. Also be aware there is seasonal hunting so stay on trail
