If you’re searching for a peaceful, dog-friendly park in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Twinney Pond Park is a charming local spot tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. This quaint park features a small, overgrown pond surrounded by unpaved trails, making it a wonderful place for pet owners seeking relaxed walks with their furry friends or just a tranquil retreat to listen to birds and frogs. The natural, slightly wild atmosphere gives it a unique, community-cared feel, perfect for those wanting a change from more structured dog parks.
While the park is not large and doesn’t feature dedicated fenced dog areas, it does offer a couple of benches for seating and shaded spots thanks to the local vegetation. Although there’s no agility equipment or separated spaces for large and small dogs, Twinney Pond Park stands out as a serene escape for dog lovers in Ridgewood. Please bring your own waste bags and water, and be mindful of the local wildlife such as ducks around the pond. There is a portable restroom (porta potty) available for human visitors.

A nice little pond, the only bad thing is the trash littered around this little park. It’s unfortunate to see.
Literally tucked away in a cul-de-sac in Ridgewood NJ. You almost feel like you are trespassing but be assured it is a public space. A small, overgrown pond but utterly charming. It feels like the locals have added little bits here and there (paving stones, and such). There is a couple of benches and a path (unpaved) around the pond which takes about 10 min to loop around so if you are looking for an exercise spot… this is not for you. If you are near and want some place cool to sit and watch a pond, listen to the frogs, birds etc. and grab a little peace of mind… this would be for you. Respect the local people, I get the feel this is like their backyard (communal) so please treat it as such. Not the prettiest pond, not large, but quaint and relaxing. There is some water or power station on the far end that hums the whole time but not terribly. There is also a port a potty over there. I would say this probably is not the best for free range children but well behaved kids looking for a little spot of nature magic? not bad…. I noticed one resident duck who was none to thrilled at my intrusion, he flew off but returned shortly and retreated to the back of the pond.
This place like horror and fully of jungle
