This is a hidden gem. I was cat sitting and searched hiking paths nearby and this park popped up. It is behind a subdivision off 42. Impossible to find if I hadn’t searched but I am so glad I did. The trail is a good workout with a feeling of solitude. Harrods Creek runs along part of the park and there are benches and swings that are perfectly placed to enjoy a nice break. There is a kayak, canoe put in not far from the parking lot. There is a restroom at the parking lot also. This is a great park.
There is also a pretty little stream that has a waterfall by a small bridge as you are leaving the parking lot.

Nice Trail. Four segments, from easy to intermediate. Well maintained. Nicely done foot bridges across rocky gulches. Beautiful views of Harrods Creek, limestone outcroppings and soaring Sycamore trees. About 4miles if you hike all of them. The Red and Green trails are as interesting as the JMF trails. Just a nice escape from all of the developments in the East End.

🌿 Harrods Creek Park – A Hidden Gem with Swing Appeal!

If you’re craving a nature escape just minutes from Louisville, Harrods Creek Park delivers a refreshing mix of serenity and adventure. The Blue Trail is the standout—easy to follow, gently hilly, and dotted with charming swings perfect for a mid-hike pause or a reflective moment. Bonus: wildlife sightings like deer and wild turkeys add a touch of magic to your walk.

🟠 The Orange Trail isn’t a true hiking path, but the views and swinging benches make it worth the detour. The Red and Green Trails offer more rugged terrain, though they could use a bit more TLC—some areas are overgrown and narrow, so a hiking stick comes in handy.

💧 Creek beds and waterfalls vary with the season, so timing your visit after a rain might reward you with some scenic splashes. Parking is easy (once you navigate the residential entry), and there’s a porta potty available about 0.25 miles in.

🎒 Tips for fellow explorers:

• Stick to the Blue and Orange trails for the best experience.
• Watch your step—roots and rocks abound.
• Bring bug spray and a hiking stick if venturing beyond the main trails.

Whether you’re hiking, swinging, or just soaking in nature’s playlist, Harrods Creek Park is a peaceful pocket of green that’s well worth the visit.

Love this place. Seems like they are doin some construction on a small walking bridge for updating the trails. Roughly 150 yards from small parking lot to drop in. Not sure on the length of the construction time yet but I like to go there regularly to get my mind right and enjoy the sound of nature’s “Playlist”
