It’s a pretty neat trail, nothing too crazy, a slight uphill but really nice for families with kids. There’s a picnic area about a half-mile up the trail.
IMHO, one of the best, maintained trails in the area. Crushed stone surface, well-marked, interpretive signage, easy grades and slopes, nice 1-mile loop, varied habitats: from swamp to river to hills to meadow. Not over promoted in the area, so you won’t see crowds.
Very well marked trail with a loop and several spurs available to hike. Good incline on the loop, not too challenging but steep in a few places. Very peaceful and serene.
Pretty little nature trail with lots of diversity. I came across a mama whitetail deer with twin fawns.
This is an excellent trail for families. Especially families with younger kids who can walk by themselves. Lots of green tunnels in spring, summer, and early fall.
There are ten sign boards that teach you just enough about nature to peak your interest.
Good for older folks and older dogs, as well.
I hope you take advantage of this free community resource and enjoy it often.
