My son and I absolutely loved this trail!!!! It was exciting, challenging and so much fun! We got to jump, climb, and took the whole loop around from lot C1 which was about 5 miles.

Pleasantly varied. You can go north towards Bull Run or south towards Occocquan. I prefer the southern route. Either way, it’s a pleasant walk, with a few rocky spots, but nothing too arduous.

Turkey Run Trail offers a number of free parking spots. The hike is intense with rugged terrain, so sturdy shoes and bug spray are essential. Scenic creek views and natural rock formations make the effort completely worthwhile. The marking is kind a challenging in mid zone so offline downloading the map is suggested.

Great trail right along the river. Lots of fun creek crossings and a cute little waterfall along the way. We parked at parking lot C and took a bunch of stairs down to the path, turned left, and after that the trail was relatively flat. Parts of the trail were flooded so we had to find ways around it but the bluebells were absolutely worth it! Overall a great experience

This was a great trail. It heads down almost immediately with stairs built into the hillside. There are multiple resting spots on the way down to enjoy the views of the Potomac below. The decent is very steep and has some stairs as well as a windy switchback trail. I quickly connected to the Potomac heritage trail and my pup and I had a blast scrambling over rocks and looking at moss, and crossing creeks. This is def my favorite trail in the region.
