Isabella Park is a charming, small green space nestled in the heart of Lake City, Florida, offering a peaceful escape for dog owners and nature lovers alike. This dog-friendly park features a picturesque lake filled with ducks and turtles, making it a unique and relaxing local destination to enjoy with your four-legged companions. Shaded by large trees with wide branches, the park provides comfortable spots to unwind and escape the afternoon sun.
While Isabella Park may not have traditional dog park amenities like fenced-in off-leash areas, it stands out for its serene atmosphere, ample natural shade, and quiet ambiance. Pet owners can enjoy a leisurely walk around the pond, sit at one of the few picnic tables, and let their dogs relax while watching the local wildlife. The park tends to stay quiet, perfect for a calm outing or reading by the water. Please remember that feeding the ducks is popular here, but bread is not recommended—opt for bird-safe treats instead!
Ducks will walk right up to you! Very friendly! Beautiful lake hundreds of geese, ducks , turtles.. so calming!
Love coming and feeding the ducks, it’s so fun to watch them run for the treats I bring them. Ducks are my fave animal 😍
I love taking my dog to this small park area with my husband. We went last week and saw so many turtles swimming right up to the retaining wall which was really cool. I love seeing our dog Lemmy sit and wonder what she’s looking at when they swim up close to her.
The park is also maintained pretty well. Sometimes the trash is overflowing from the barrels and can be a little smelly because of the heat, but I love the big trees that have these super long branches that provide a time of shade from the sun in the afternoon.
The park is typically pretty quiet too if you want a calm place to read a book or just sit and watch the ducks in the pond. Very relaxing. We’re lucky that we live in the same neighborhood and can just grab the dog and take a nice walk over there whenever we want.
It’s a small park with a few picnic tables and lots of wild ducks and turtles in the water. We go there often to relax, have a picnic, read a book on the bench and/or feed the ducks. There is no fishing, swimming, or boating allowed. Please read the sign out front or look up safe foods for waterfowl before feeding the ducks. Bread is not only hazardous to the birds health but also the environment in the water. Do NOT FEED them BREAD!
Nice quiet park. Though there are lot of Karens pretending the birds are theirs out trying to make the ducks eat organic dried grains. lol Come and feed the birds whatever you want as long as its food. There are piles of peas that the birds are ignoring. Whatever you feed them is better than the trash they are eating out of the win-dixie parking lot.
