Dog Anxiety: Causes, Signs & What Actually Helps
Many dogs show clear signs of dog anxiety, including pacing, panting, and seeking constant reassurance. If your dog paces, whines, […]

Rick Barker Dog Park is a convenient and quaint off-leash dog park located right in Idyllwild-Pine Cove, CA. While not the largest park in the area, it offers two fenced enclosures—perfect for letting your pups run, chase balls, and socialize freely. The ground is mostly dirt, which is great for playful dogs but can get muddy in winter or after rain. Chairs are available for owners, and water bowls are present to keep pets hydrated during playtime, making it a solid choice for both locals and visitors seeking a dog-friendly stop amid the region’s scenic mountain atmosphere.
The park’s small size lends itself to a friendly community feel, with regular social hours for dogs each Saturday. It’s easy to find parking either in the small lot (look for the ministry entrance and swing right) or along the street. While basic in amenities, Rick Barker Dog Park offers a very convenient spot for dog owners wanting safe, off-leash fun close to town, especially for quick play sessions after enjoying Idyllwild’s pet-friendly trails or hiking options nearby.
Have a look at how foul this dog park is. I think this trash hasn’t been picked up in months. 👎
This is not a very nice dog park. It’s all dirt, small, no trash receptacles except a big plastic bag. My dog was quite dirty after going here, and all the times we went by, there were no other dogs in it to play with.
What a great little spot for dogs to be free. Pretty small, but in a very convenient area. I would recommend that they remove some of those random tree stumps from the middle of the park as it is quite dangerous for running dogs. Overall a great place to stop with your pooch.
Cute place two fenced in areas with a couple of chairs and some water. The ground is essentially dirt but still a good place to let your dog run chase ball and maybe meet with other dogs every Saturday 3 PM to 4 PM.
For parking, just take the entrance to the ministry and swing to the right there are three parking spots in front otherwise you can park on the road
Smaller dog park but great for your dog to get some exercise. We went during the winter and the larger dog area had some ice and water, so major mud for our corgi to play in. Place was very clean. Very well kept place
