Dog Anxiety: Causes, Signs & What Actually Helps
Many dogs show clear signs of dog anxiety, including pacing, panting, and seeking constant reassurance. If your dog paces, whines, […]

Nestled along Coburg Road just outside Eugene, Oregon, Armitage Dog Park offers a spacious, well-maintained environment for dogs and their people. This Lane County facility features separate fenced areas for small and large dogs, giving pups plenty of room for safe, off-leash play. Large, mature trees throughout the park provide welcome shade on sunny days, while the ground is usually covered in bark or grass to help minimize mud—though after heavy rains, you may want to bring a towel!
Armitage Dog Park is known for its friendly community, with owners and dogs alike enjoying the relaxed, social atmosphere. Amenities include benches and picnic tables for owners, waste stations supplied with doggy bags, and several trash bins to keep the park clean. For those seeking more adventure, adjacent river trails offer extra options for pet-friendly walks and dog-friendly hiking. The park is part of a larger county park that includes RV camping, picnic areas, and a boat launch, making it a fantastic spot for families to spend the day outdoors with their pets.
This is a great place to take your dogs. All the peoplAll the people are friendly. All the dogs are friendly. The only problem is sometimes when it’s nice because the dogs will get a lot of mud on their paws and people walk around the perimeter for exercise.
Would not recommend. Lots of reactive dogs with passive owners. We saw at least 2 unneutered older dogs that were acting very territorial. And one person was spraying dogs with the hose without asking any of the owners.
County park offers day use, camping with full RV hookups (14 day limit), fairly private group picnic sites, boat launch into large river, and 24-hour camp hosts on-site. Aesthic forested surroundings. Quite a nice place to spend several days.
Armitage is our go-to park with our pup.
This is a Lane County Park and does require either a day use fee or a park pass.
The area is usually very clean. They provide doggy bags for waste and several garbage cans scattered about the area.
The ground is typically covered in bark or grasses which helps with issues with mud, but it’s not always perfect during very wet and rainy Oregon weather.
There are plenty of large trees that provide good shade in the summer and that drop leaves in the fall, which are always fun to play in. You will also find picnic tables/benches to sit at or for smaller dogs to hide under. There are some hide and seek shelters and often there are a few tennis balls and other toys about for dogs to discover and play with.
The people are always friendly and dogs are typically well behaved. There is plenty of space for dogs to run, play together, or have solitary play time with their owners. I especially enjoy walking laps on the trail around the inner perimeter of the park. Exercise and good fun for all.
Restrooms are not near the dog park area, but can be found on site if needed.
Good size dog park divided for smalling and larger dogs. I’ve never had any problems with the other dogs in this park. Some of the other winds in Eugene I’ve had problems with dogs picking on mine. The trees also add some nice shade, it’s just a great place to take your dog. Don’t forget there also trails along the river if you just want to go for a walk.
