If you’re looking for a friendly and clean dog park in El Paso, Texas, Alethea Park is a local favorite for pet owners who appreciate a well-kept, dog-friendly space. Located at 801 Stockwell Ln, Alethea Park offers a large, fully enclosed area where dogs can roam off-leash, socialize, and enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding hills. The park’s relaxed and amicable neighborhood atmosphere makes this a popular spot for regulars, many of whom know each other and their pets.
While Alethea Park is mostly open and lacks much shade or abundant seating, it is celebrated for its cleanliness compared to other local parks, as well as the neighborly vibe that welcomes both people and pets. Dog owners can enjoy taking laps around the park or simply letting their dogs play and mingle. Please note that the gate may not be the most secure, so extra attention is needed when entering or exiting with your dog.
Friendly people, friendly pet!!! Super clean place
Large enclosed area for the dogs to roam around. Great views of the hills.
This park is much cleaner than Don Haskins park in front of Franklin High School. I love how people take pride in keeping this park well kept. I am definitely coming back with my dog. I love how the park is an off-leash park. My dog didn’t play with the other dogs but she did enjoy the four laps of walking
It’s a great park, unfortunately there are people that don’t clean their dogs 💩!
The crowd was really nice. A bunch of neighbors who knew each other and friendly dogs who also all knew each other. The park itself is mediocre. No shade and not much seating. For being used as a dog park the gate is not very safe. A dog could easily get out while someone else is leaving or entering.
I came here because I thought it was an off-leash dog park. My dogs had a great time running around and stretching their legs and checking out all the interesting smells. Later I learned that it is not an off-leash dog park. That’s very disappointing because it’s a 20-30-minute drive to the closest off-leash dog park from Central. Since there are only two off-leash dog parks in a city of close to a million people, they tend to be very crowded, often with unsupervised and sometimes aggressive dogs. I was excited to find a smaller Park in my neighborhood that was close enough for me to pass by and see if it was crowded before committing to going there. Otherwise, it’s a perfectly nice little Park with a walking ring around it and some exercise equipment.
