Great for walking your fur babies or putting your kayak in! Two trials to walk! If it has rained for a couple of days you might have trouble walking the big loop!

State Forest Zoar. Great little trail, could use some live as bridges need work. Nice and quiet no one around.

Since high water the lower half has partial walk bridge. Still a nice little local place to walk Freckles.

Good place to access the Mattaponi River. This ramp is located on Herring Creek in the Upper Zoar section of the state forest. Ramp is wood steps with a slide. The Mattaponi River is visible and just a short distance from this location. Property across from Herring Creek is posted no trespassing. There are two parking lots. There is a large parking lot with information kiosks at the entrance and a smaller parking lot at the ramp site. Both parking lots are gravel. Area is patrolled and I observed a conservation police officer talking to visitors.
