Nice park
Aspen’s hidden gem! absolutely gorgeous neighborhood park and playground. My kid loved playing here, the fall colors were stunning!
Beautiful place. Little trails and waterfalls
Yep-we like!
Synder Park is one of Aspen’s hidden gems. While popular Wagner Park can hold hundreds, the maximum number here is just 50. But I rarely see another person when I visit. To me it’s my private retreat.
The kewl thing about Synder Park is it’s built on three levels, all moving upward from Midland Avenue. This is because the city built the park for storm water control. Water rushes down from the three levels in ever increasing intensity. The roar of the water dominates the silence of majestic trees that tower over everything in the park.
Level 1 features the grassy green. Great for picnics and sun bathing or star gazing. Level 2 features a stone arch leading to a mythic fountain with a waterfall. Level 3 has a playground. Walk up from level 3 to the trail head for the Synder Park Trail. It’s rocky and has some sizable elevation gains so I told you!
Walk down Midland Avenue and the sidewalk walks you right by the park. There’s a port-a-potty at the entrance plus parking for just four cars. (I walk because I live 5 minutes away.) Housing units sit at the entrance to the park. Lucky people to have this in their backyard!
I love😎😍 this park because it feels like it’s mine because no one is ever there. You get everything that draws you to Aspen: rushing water, towering trees, the greenest grass outside of Kentucky, azure blue skies. A hidden Rocky Mountain high! P.S. Share my secret!
