Mason District Park is a delightful suburban gem that offers something for everyone. Immediately striking is the well‑maintained amphitheater, a lightly wooded outdoor venue that hosts free summer programs (like Arts in the Parks and Spotlight by Starlight), bringing community life and local performances to the space . Adjacent shelters and picnic areas provide shaded seating, grills, and tables—ideal for family gatherings or small festivals.

Sports enthusiasts will enjoy the tennis and basketball courts, softball and soccer fields, plus open lawn spaces for informal games. A paved network of trails winds through trees, benches, and informational kiosks—perfect for walking, jogging, or dog‑walking on the short (~0.5–1 mile) loop .

The playground and tot lot have shaded wood‑chip surfaces, making them kid‑friendly and comfortable even in warm months. A small pond, water fountains, and restrooms (seasonal, spring through fall) round out the amenities. A fenced dog park area is a bonus for pet owners.

Overall, the park balances relaxed natural ambience with community infrastructure. It’s clean, accessible (served by multiple bus routes), and family‑oriented. While not massive, Mason District gives visitors a serene, versatile outdoor space close to the Beltway—great for daily visits or special events.

Nice soccer and tennis fields. Really secluded (and peaceful) trails. Enjoy the shade, take the fresh air in and walk alongside that special someone. Truly enjoyable

A good place for a walk, with easy trails, great for walking with your dog. It even has a dedicated space for your pet. A large area for sports like soccer or tennis. There’s also space for a picnic or barbecue. Kids will enjoy the playground. About the restroom, I think it needs a bit more attention, as the men’s part had a strong urine odor. Other than that, it’s a good place for a family outing, with ample parking. I recommend it!

I came to Mason District Park via Geocaching. Looks like lots of activities here, but just a soccer game going on when I got here. Really nice little park. There are some really nice trails. A bit steeper than what my legs wanted to navigate, but we came to a compromise, and went about halfway. Downhill coming back was much easier. Watch for roots and other stumbling objects. The little lake was very pretty, but it made me wanna find a bag and a grabber and get all of that trash out of it. Lots of parking.
