Located in the heart of Hohenwald, Tennessee, Hohenwald Memorial Park features a dedicated dog park that offers local pet owners a welcoming spot to let their dogs exercise and socialize. The park is known for its family-friendly environment and is a wonderful place for residents seeking pet-friendly activities, dog-friendly hiking, or simply a charming setting for a walk with your furry friend. A mile-long walking track, playground for kids, and a community pool make this a versatile destination for families and dog owners alike.
While the playground is popular, the dog park stands out as a quiet retreat with shaded areas – especially inviting during Tennessee’s warm summer days. The park is well maintained, with new pavilions offering covered shelter and ample space for picnics or gatherings. Hohenwald Memorial Park is ideal for anyone searching for a dog park in Hohenwald, TN, complemented by the small-town charm and community spirit that make this area unique.
It’s just a nice small town playground
Ever since they tore down the large shade trees at the playground, my kids can’t play there because the equipment is too hot. And only about a quarter of the mile-long track is shaded. The mayor said he had a “plan” for the playground, but it’s been 2 years and nothing has been done. All the county has done is build 3 new pavilions – 2 at the park and 1 elsewhere – that serve no purpose to our county’s growing population of children age 0-17. Oh, and they built a big dog park (paid for by some grant, apparently), and I’ve never even seen a dog in there. I might just take my kids there to play since it at least has shade.
On the plus side, the lifeguards at the pool are very sweet. We’ll continue to use the pool weekly since we obviously can’t use the playground.
P.s. as I’m writing this review, 3 of my kids are playing with gravel under the pavilion and the playground is vacant because it’s too hot to play at 10am in the morning.
Attended the Rockin Rodeo. Good show.
Very nice, well maintained, walking track. The play sets for children are a bit dated, but from a safety stand point, no issues.
