Dale Percival the coordinator with York Parks and Rec. handles issues within the parks and rec department very poorly, and does not know how to communicate with anyone clearly or respectfully. After many years and multiple children of mine participating in programs within the rec I am absolutely disgusted at how my daughter’s recent situation was handled. After reaching out with a geniune concern and addressing how it was negatively impacting my child. I was basically told that nothing could be done to accommodate her or fix the issue at hand and that their coordinating error was somehow my fault. And initially requesting my money back would be an issue. I will take my children elsewhere to participate in sports programs going forward that have better organization and planning, that also look out for my child’s best interest, and are willing to work with parents on issues that may arise. This whole situation was poorly handled from start to finish. It’s a shame that this is the leadership in place to handle issues in York Parks and Rec.

The York Recreation complex is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. There is a playground with slides for young kids. A bike trail around a mile long around the outer edge of the park. The oak tree lined paths are a great place to walk. There are numerous baseball diamonds. A snack shop is also available for community events. The only thing missing is a basketball hoop.

Playground equipment and workout center were awesome! Lost a couple of stars because there was little to no mulch or whatever flooring used left, and it was a mud pit. Could not use half of the playground for the massive puddles. Luckily, I had a change of clothes on hand for my kids, and my they wear boots so they could enjoy some of it. Also, bathrooms beside the playground are closed for the winter, so you have to walk all the way to the main complex.
