Very clean park. Well maintained. Lots of nature. Large enough to not have any urban noise to interrupt the peace. Paths are large and either paved or gravel. I went after it had rained and didn’t encounter any mud or degraded trail areas.
Stopped here yesterday to check out the slim sweet gum trees to see if I want a couple in my yard
Smaller park, there is I believe 3 trails/paths that you can access without paying to get into the special garden (geared towards children). I think you normally have to have the Great Parks pass or pay to get in, but there was not an attendant at the booth on a friday afternoon, so it’s probably hit or miss. Pretty scenery and flowers. Not a lot of shade on the trails themselves. The main trail is paved and the wetland loop up gravel. As with any walk, check yourself and your dog after for ticks. They’re very bad this year. My dog enjoyed the walk. There were seveal parties doing graduation photos here so I guess it’s popular for getting photos taken. We got to see a snake, a couple rabbits, and 2 turkey vultures. There are trash and recycling receptacles on the trails.
It’s a great place. We were here today. There were lots of things to do: walk around and go to the playground. They have a model train and a room where you can put together puzzles, draw, and observe some animals. We saw snakes, rabbits, toads, and a spider. Everything was really beautiful. We had an incredible time, every time we went, and the prices were affordable. Recommended.
This is one of my all time favorite parks. Love the walking paths. There are also wooded paths leading into the forest in various areas. The amount of wildlife here is insane. I always see the coolest birds. Today I saw an owl and it was absolutely stunning (see picture). I also did my engagement pictures here a few years ago and they turned out amazing. If you’re thinking about visiting this park, do it! It does not disappoint. Love checking out the paw paw trees!
