We received our key fob today (11/4/2024) and went to the park at 5pm. There was some form of a pit or pit mix in the park, hair standing up on its shoulders and it snapped at our Corgi. The owner kept saying “Oh the Corgi isn’t a threat! Stop it!”
Then, as we were leaving the park, a lady with two dogs, some labs of some kind, came in. We let her in first before we left, and my dog, being social, got pets from the lady.
One of the ladies dogs came up to our Corgi as she was snuggling up to the lady, and began to bite my dog. Twice, three times maybe (no damage just fur and tuft). The lady pulled her dog off and we left. The lady didn’t even apologize.
There were three people in the park during our duration, and 2/3 had aggressive dogs. I have never, ever, in all my years owning my Corgi, had a dog actually bite her. Anywhere.
For the safety of your dog, it might be best you don’t let them interact with the owners here. It clearly attracts the lowest common denominator of dog owner. From now on, if we even decide to go back, my dog will be in the small dog park, away from everyone else, or any dog that could cause serious damage to her.
And to those of you who knowingly bring dogs with aggression issues to parks, shame on you. My dog and her health is not a training moment. Seek help, you have issues and shouldn’t be a dog owner.
