The park includes picnic tables and a covered shelter, providing comfortable spots for picnicking or unwinding while your dog enjoys the outdoors. While it is not a traditional dog park with fenced or separated dog areas, Buffalo Creek Area welcomes leashed dogs on its trails and around the park. Families will appreciate the kid-friendly hikes and the overall kid-friendly environment. Bug repellent is recommended, especially during mosquito season. Primitive camping is also allowed, making it a great spot for an overnight adventure with your pup.
Primitive camping allowed here at NULL a night. No real designated spaces and I didn’t see any signage indicating number of sites allowed. I would think three tent sites Would be possible. This is the third Buchanan County campground I have visited today and I found nobody camping this Wednesday morning. Camping area boarders 220 St just east of Winthrop.

Beautiful, lush, peaceful. But the mosquitos are off the chain. Bring strong bug repellent or there will be nothing left of you but a shriveled husk when they’re done.
Nice quiet place to recharge.
