Fun and challenging single track mountain biking trail. Listed as 5.5 miles in total. I did about 3.8 miles only as I’ve inadvertently skipped some sections.
There are quite a few forks that are not marked; I’d say in general following the “red dots” marked on some trees tend to get you the most miles. Just as the MTBproject description on this trail warning, I had to “hike a bike” a handful of times mainly due to me not sure where I’m going and didn’t maintain enough speed.
Terrains:
Hard pack, some roots, some rocks, very rideable for intermediate mtn bikers, beginners will struggle for sure on larger roots or climbs. Reasonable climbs if you are moderately fit. Some parts are a bit loose or sandy but very safe overall.
Many fun berms and area to maintain speeds. Good variety of terrains and challenges. Places where they marked “Trail” or “DH” are both very manageable. You don’t have to be a gnarly expert Downhill rider or with a DH bike to accomplish it. But definitely true intermediate skills required.
Bonus features next to the parking lot — flow trail (jump trail) that has a handful of medium size table top and 4 S-berms and 1 drop near the very end. I was too exhausted to try the drop but looks reasonably safe too as long as you maintain enough speed.
Highly recommend anyone who is around the Winston-Salem area to try this out. I was just visiting Wake Forest University and googled nearby trails, this is only 10 minutes away. Definitely looking forward to come back again.
awesome park more for bikes than hiking! paths are little hard if wet
This place has excellent mountain bike trails. They aren’t easy trails, but pretty challenging. There are a lot of punchy climbs with roots and rocks. Lots of quick descents with roots and rocks.
We were visiting from out of town and heard this place drained well (it does) and was fun (it is). I think it’s about 6 miles for a loop, but much shorter of you take the downhill lines, which we didn’t. We stuck to the regular loop and really liked it.
I really like out the trail was constantly changing elevation. The numerous technical features really makes it stand out too. I like rock features and there were some challenging ones and one rock slab jump to flat that I skipped.
I can’t say enough about this place. Kudos to the trail builders and maintainers. They are keeping this trail in great shape.
Park dedicated to remote controlled planes and cars and whatever you got! Plenty of space to race or try out new moves. There’s also walking and biking trails 🙂
Fantastic 🏞️ park if you are a hiker, a mountain 🚲 biker, picnicer, rc car enthusiast, or plane enthusiast. They have dirt tracks and open fields for you to take the cars and planes out. They also have ample parking, ♿ handicap accessible spots, and more. The entrance is difficult to spot as an FYI.
