Prairie Island Dog Park is a scenic, community-oriented space perfect for letting your dog run off-leash, meet new friends, and explore the outdoors in the heart of Winona.
Quaint little dog park down by the river. There are some nice covered areas to sit in. Also, 2 separate dog parks based on energy levels.
They do have some specific rules posted. So, check those over.
I bring my dog Aspen there 2-3 times a day. Shes a heeler and australian shepherd mix, so energy for dayys (shes also a puppy) Only thing it could use is a water pump or fossit because the dogs are always panting after play and not everyone brings enough water and some dogs spill the water or pee in it. Overall good park (Yes the photo is at the park, we had her on a leash and they have little bench areas with sidewalk platform)
Overall, a nice place to take my dog. I just wish there was more light at night during the winter time. I am usually only able to take my dog here after work and it gets dark out so early during the winter months. It would really help to have more light without having to shine my headlights into the park! (photo was taken during the spring of 2021)
We love coming to this dog park! Definitely bring water, if it’s hot and a lot of dogs the water goes quickly.
First time taking my five month old puppy here and we had a blast
