We love Spruces❤️❤️❤️ this place recently became an off leash dog park which was an amazing gift to the community. We take our dog here all the time. It’s not the craziest hike if you want a lot of terrain variety but it’s a very nice low intensity walk
First time at this – just passing through. Lovely. The weather was perfect which certainly helps the review. 77 degrees, nice breeze, low humidity. Saw joggers, dog-walkers, folx having lunch. Well kept trails, picnic tables near the entrance. Couldn’t give 5 stars because there didn’t seem to be seating along trails. Which means I can’t really use the trails because I have mobility limits that require sitting every 10-15 minutes. And didn’t see a restroom.
Easy hike with gorgeous panoramic views of the surrounding Berkshires.When we visited a number of roads within the park were closed, including one of the parking areas. No worries as there was sufficient parking in a big lot to the left of the main road.I can see ample construction occurring to improve roads, trails in the overall experience.Bring a hat or sunscreen during summer months as you will be in the direct sun for virtually the whole time in the park.Dog walking seems to be big here, with ample trails to take your doggie out for a long walk. Keep your dog on a leash to be respectful of other walkers and always clean up after your pup.
In my opinion, the best (summer) time to come here is when there is a slight breeze in the sun is not directly overhead. They have poop bags and trash cans, and the roads are nicely gravelled for walking, bikes, and cars. We keep our dogs on long leashes and are always pleasantly surprised when other people have well trained dogs or keep them on leashes.
I have a red heeler (she is a cattle herding dog from Australia ) and i take her here every morning and she loves chasing her baseball here great place to bring you best friend
