What a great place to enjoy nature and unwind after a long or stressful day. The peaceful trails, serene lake, and abundance of wildlife make it easy to slow down and appreciate the beauty around you. Our Lord truly created such a beautiful world — and this park is a perfect reminder of that. Whether you’re walking, kayaking, or simply sitting by the water, it’s a soul-refreshing escape.
Great terrain. Careful with your footing where some roots are exposed. Almost 200 FT elevation relief over the hike I did.
Absolutely amazing. Beautiful views. Rented kayak for 2 hours with my daughter, very relaxing, was only like NULL and NULL for parking. Staff is very friendly and helpful, clean bathrooms. Nice little playground and bridges with nice views. Trails, store, little library, picnic areas. Def worth the trip.
Now this place is like a hidden treasure. They offer 3 different trails here right on the water. We started with the shorter trail. We saw a whitetail and a black snake. We took the red trail, which is longer, but it was the perfect combination of elevation climbs and flat walks. If you are looking for a quite place to just hike then this location is the best. You do have to pay for parking. They also offer kayak rentals and fishing.
Our first visit to this park, and it was GREAT! From the moment we arrived, we saw wildlife everywhere- to the nest of baby birds at the Boathouse where we paid for parking (onlyNULL!!!), to the multiple toads, turtles, snakes and skinks we saw on the Nature Trail. The trails are very clearly marked, and there is great signage throughout the park. There are bathrooms available at the Boathouse as well as a small store with snacks and boat rentals. I was impressed with the many tables and benches available along the trails, and we took advantage of one for our picnic lunch.
