Located on the scenic shores of East Bay, Bayside Park is a popular, pet-friendly spot in Williamsburg, MI, perfect for families and dog owners alike. With direct access to Lake Michigan’s shallow waters, the park offers plenty of opportunities for walking your dog along the shoreline or relaxing on the lawn. While dogs are welcome, please note the area is not fenced, so leashes are required. The park features paved paths, abundant green space, and easy access to the water, making it ideal for dog walks and beach outings.
Bayside Park stands out for its range of amenities, including two playgrounds for kids, picnic tables, and seasonal public restrooms. There is plenty of parking available near the entrance, and the park is accessible for wheelchair users. Owners can enjoy shaded benches or swings while their pets sniff and explore. Be aware that the beach is a bit rocky at the shoreline, so plan accordingly. Bayside Park is an excellent choice if you’re searching for a dog-friendly park in Williamsburg or looking for local pet-friendly outdoor activities.
It was a great park to lay on the beach and bring a family or dogs. But it is extremely rocky so I wouldn’t bring the elderly.
Beautiful park on East Bay. Nice playground and picnic area. Restrooms open seasonally.
Very nice spot. My family visited this beach the morning/early afternoon before our drive back downstate. Perfect beach, small rocks, and water for our little one to play. There are two playground areas. The bathrooms are adequate – two stalls with toilets and a changing area with plenty of hooks and benches in the lady’s room. The bathrooms are near the parking lot. There are benches and at least one of them is a bench swing. There are also picnic tables on the lawn.
For those who want to know more about the water, this side of the bay is shallow everywhere – you can wade out past the buoys and it’s barely waist deep. The water is on the colder side (actually Lake Michigan is much warmer this time of year than the bays are) but very pleasant and refreshing and it’s not hard to get acclimated. There is a band of small rocks at the shoreline you have to painfully walk through before you reach the sandy bottom but for the most part beyond the shore it’s completely sandy; hardly any seaweed or large rocks. Tip: if you follow the deck that leads down to the water from the paved sidewalk, there is currently a break in the band of rocks there so trust that it’s there for a reason and save your feet!
Another review mentioned geese poop on the grass. I did see some but it was obvious and there wasn’t too much as many people were opting to sunbathe on the lawn.
Very nice park and facilities. Will be back again!
One of my favorite parks on East bay🥹😍🥲🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
It was a nice spot to visit and walk a small portion of the beach. Easy parking and not to crowded when we visited.
