8/1/2025: although I’ve lived here for over 10 years now I’ve never had the want or need to check this place out. Took the dogs for a walk here and it turned into a nature hike! Save for the Kellogg traffic this place is a little escape from the city and has some very beautiful areas. Apparently this is a large equestrian area but I did not see anyone riding nor did I check out that area on the SE side. There’s a very nice distinguished path with multiple wilder nature trails splitting off. Bring your pups and lose yourself for an hour or so!

Great walking trails, peaceful and few interactions with other people. But for the love of all that is holy, load up on bug spray before coming out here. Even wearing tucked in clothes wasn’t enough and I pulled 5 ticks off of my legs and another one was found in my car crawling on the window. It’s worth checking out, but absolutely have bug spray that works on ticks.

I love Pawnee prairie. It’s got pretty trails. Nice bike path along the creek, but I do wish we could volunteer and do a river cleanup through there. One of these days I might try and set something up

Just found this place last week, now it’s my favorite place to walk my dog! It’s a great place to connect with nature and get away from all the hustle and bustle for a little while. Just remember that you’re outside and *gasp* bugs are outside too! Especially on the off-road trails. Only one small inconvenience is that there are no trash cans along the trail, so if you’re a responsible pet owner and pick up after your dog – you’re gonna have to carry that doody bag most of the way. Overall I love this park and I look forward to coming here as often as possible!

Nice trail for running. There’s one area that’s covered for picnic. Restrooms are open, clean, and stocked. I don’t see anything about reserving. It’s nature. If ya just love being outside without amenities, you’ll love it. Dogs are welcome. Very peaceful. Not much for kids. The Maize entry has a playground. There’s also an air pump if your bike loses air. East and West entrances.
