The Hamburg Trailhead is about 2 miles west of the MDOT parking lot that defines the beginning of the eastern end of the trail. Parking is limited, so it may be a challenge at peak times. However, the trail heading east and west goes through some great back-woods areas before opening out into more populated areas, so it’s a great place to start a walk or bike ride. And the Hamburg Pub, right next door, offers great simple food and drinks.

Decent size in winter because not many people there. Might be different in the summer. It’s a small lot. Decent condition.
A very nice cycling trail. Hubs and I rode west 6 miles and then turned around when the sky looked threatening. Fortunately we made it to a tunnel when the rain arrived! Anyway, the parking lot is a bit small and we got the last space. There’s a portapotty there, and a few benches. Anyone interested in inline skating the trail, I’d rate it a 7 of 10. The best place to start your ride, whether riding the Lakelands Trail or beginning a road adventure down Strawberry Lake toward Dexter! The restrooms are always clean and inoffensive, which is a big plus. Parking is safe, but can fill up quickly, as this is a popular launch spot for bikes and walkers alike.
