Located conveniently at 168 Jennings Rd, Northfield Township Dog Park is a pet-friendly destination in Whitmore Lake, Michigan, perfect for dog owners looking for a safe place for their pets to play and socialize. The park features a spacious fenced-in area where dogs can run off-leash, along with picnic tables, chairs, and a quiet atmosphere away from major roads. It’s known for its wheelchair accessible entrance and parking, making it accessible for all visitors.
Dog owners will appreciate the scenic trail that leads from the dog area down to the river—ideal for dog-friendly hiking and relaxing strolls. The park also caters to families with kids, with a playground, swings, and even a baseball field nearby. While the park is mostly well-kept, some features are a bit worn and could benefit from upgrades, and visitors have suggested improvements like more waste stations and poop bags.
Nice park but wanted to let others know be aware!! my 8 1/2 month Husky was just attacked there today 6/10/2023 by 2 dogs. Description of the two dogs. All white with speckled tan ears looked like a shepherd husky pit bull mix. Other dog was very stocky, black and white speckled pitbull mix he was wearing a red Georgia bulldogs T-shirt. They were both rescues. The owner was there it was her two dogs they were both wearing shock collars. She was holding the control. They both started to attack our dog. Our dog tried to run away several times, and they just kept going after him. The owner did nothing and said nothing, and just laughed it off she was very nonchalant about the whole thing. Seemed to me like this has happened with her dogs before. If you see these dogs be aware and stay away !
A nice sized fenced in area for the dogs to run around in. There are usually a few toys scattered around, too! Plus some nice chairs and a picnic table for the humans. There is also a great path that runs along the side of the dog area that you can walk down to the river. A little quiet, but usually quite nice.
Great for a quick trip to run the dogs out. People are friendly and control their dogs
We had a great time at this dog park. It’s in a quiet location away from the roads. Our Great Dane enjoyed herself.
Okay, just a really simple gated dog park. Some parts are badly worn and could use upgrades. Poop bags and can would be nice.
