Wilkus Farm Preserved Open Space offers pet owners a beautiful and expansive open field, perfect for outdoor adventures with your furry companions. Located in the heart of Wethersfield, this historic property once operated as a dairy farm and now welcomes dog lovers to experience its scenic landscapes and tranquil atmosphere. The park features wide, rolling fields on a hill, ideal for letting your dog run and explore.
While visiting, you’ll appreciate amenities such as bike racks, benches for relaxing, and local wildlife sightings—including deer at sunrise! Although there is a path worn from use, there is no official paved walking trail; the ground can be wet at times, so come prepared for changing conditions. This park is one of Wethersfield’s most open and dog-friendly spaces, offering an inviting spot for pet-friendly hikes and play.
Wide open field on a hill, nice for walking.
Nice place to run the dog. Bigger then I thought.
Gorgeous bit of land that used to be an operating dairy farm. Appreciate the history of the property.
This is a section of property including across the Street and another parcel off of Thornbush.
The babbling brook winds it’s way under the road between, and while a sort of path around the fields has been trodden, there is not a “trail”. I have fat biked over the fields when dry or frozen, but conditions can be often very wet sometimes so walkers be prepared.
There is a bike parking lock up and a nice bench.
Beautiful open space with bike rack and bench! Saw 2 deer run through this morning at 6am
