FAQ for OPEN Space Offleash Dog Area. in Westminster Colorado:
Love being able to walk hands free with my pups. The dog park area on the north east side is a great destination to set as a midway point for the visit.
Fabulous views, lots of large and very large dogs. Some aggressive dogs off leash is my only reason for clipping off a star. Plenty of parking, waste bags provided, and trails are well marked.
Nothing fancy, just a huge open area to let the dogs run free. Lots of different paths with several extra wide main routes. Nice views for you and limitless exploration for the dogs, but not a lot of diversity of biome and the parking lot could be bigger given the popularity of the spot – I’ve definitely tried to go on the weekend and turned around after finding a line of cars waiting to park, and it took me 25 minutes to drive there in the first place.
Highly recommend if you have a dog that is great off leash and friendly with other dogs! Lots of walking paths plus poop bags and trash cans at the entrances. And the views is stellar. Note that it is not completely fenced in like a normal dog park and it’s right off a main road so if your dog does not listen well I would keep them on leash. When it snows however there is no trail maintenance done so expect to be walking in snow, ice or even mud as it melts. There are two parking lots also which are pretty large. Weekends are more crowded so you might have to park on the street. Again highly recommend!
Beautiful open space with dirt trails to follow throughout. Can run/walk/bike with your pup on or off leash. Porta potties, water, poop bags, and trash cans available. Great spot to practice recall.
