🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions

Pike’s Beach is a beautiful, tranquil destination on Dune Road, Westhampton Beach, known for its clean sand, peaceful atmosphere, and light crowds even during the summer. It’s an ideal spot for those looking to escape noisy, busy beaches and enjoy the serenity of Long Island’s southern coast. The easy access and short walk from the small parking area add to the relaxing vibe, making it a hidden gem along the East End.
For dog owners, Pike’s Beach can be an inviting place for walks with your pup, especially in the colder months when it’s less crowded. While full off-leash privileges and designated fenced-in areas are not confirmed, dog walkers report pleasant experiences enjoying the sand and waves with their dogs, provided they follow leash requirements as posted. The beach features lifeguards in the summer, clean public restrooms, showers, and a small shop for necessities, creating a comfortable environment for both people and pets. However, be aware of posted signs and seasonal regulations regarding dogs on the beach, and note the $18 parking fee during summer months.
Went there during hurricane Erin, nobody was restricting access like the other beaches around Westhampton. Great little beach, part of Southampton town.
My visit to Pikes Beach in Long Island was just what I needed. It’s a very quiet and peaceful spot, perfect if you’re not a fan of crowded beaches. The atmosphere was calm, the sand was clean, and the whole place had a relaxed, laid back vibe.
If you’re looking to escape the noise and enjoy the ocean with a little more space and serenity, Pikes Beach is the spot to go. Definitely one of Long Island’s hidden gems I’ll be back for sure!
Beautiful! Short walk from the parking space to the beach.
I went there in the middle of April, so it was very quiet and peaceful and I got to see a harbor seal. Such an amazing experience!
Hope to have a chance to go there again in summer time.
