Westerly Dog Park is a beloved off-leash dog park located at 35 Larry Hirsch Ln, Westerly, RI 02891. This well-maintained park is known for its friendly atmosphere, ample space, and convenient accessibility, including wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking. With separate areas for small and large dogs, plush grass, shady spots, and beautiful views across the water, it’s considered by many to be one of the best dog parks in the Westerly area. The park is not directly on a main road, making it quieter and safer for pups that like to explore.
Dog owners appreciate the park’s double-gated entry for added security, ample parking, and dog-friendly features. While visitors should bring their own water bowls and chairs as amenities can sometimes be removed, you’ll find plenty of opportunities for pups to socialize and play. Westerly Dog Park also offers shaded spots, seating, picnic tables, and separate fenced areas for both large and small dogs, ensuring a welcoming space for the entire pet community. It’s an ideal destination for dog-friendly outings and connecting with other local dog lovers!
Used to be a great place, now the only thing allow is dogs. Chairs, water bowls, and pools are gone. If u go to this park pack water bowls, a chair, and ur dogs toys.
Would have given it 5 stars as my dog enjoyed his first time with other dogs. Unfortunately he decided to poop and a lady asked me if I needed a bag. Wait I have to pick that up?
Best dog park in the area! Good dogs and good people
Really nice, but a little dirty as big dog area has a large dirt area. Cool with pools and still a great place to meet up and let em run!
2 part review: After trying 22 other parks, this was the winner. Perfect size. Plush grass. Groomed. Shade. Clean. Safe. Separate sides for big and small. Parking. Great water source. Not on a main road. They have chairs and a double gate. Right across from a shelter and even the shelter has their own side!.
Oh and the view across the water! 45 min ride for us from CT was worth every penny of gas.

Please beware, an older woman who is a regular visitor (every day) with two tiny little poodles believes she owns the place and has no problem calling the police on people who bring their friendly shy 30 pound puppies onto the small dog side. Drama and arguing with it. No one had a problem with it but her. Utterly ridiculous and a waste of tax payer resources. I wanted to apologize to the police officer I was so embarrassed for her. I have stopped going because we want peace for our pups, not angst for every passer by who *might* be coming in.
If she’s not there, it is a wonderful quiet place!
