🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Located in the heart of Westbury, New York, the Fairfield Jericho Townhomes community offers a pet-friendly environment for residents with dogs. While the community includes green spaces suitable for walking your furry companions, there is no dedicated dog park with specific amenities like fenced-in play areas, agility equipment, or separate spaces for small and large dogs. The property’s tranquil suburban setting is popular among pet owners seeking nearby dog-friendly paths and outdoor areas for daily exercise.
It’s important to note, based on resident feedback, that the property may occasionally experience sanitation challenges regarding waste disposal and garbage maintenance. Pet owners are encouraged to be aware of potential issues and to always clean up after their pets to help maintain a welcoming environment for everyone. Additionally, the community does not have smoke-free policies for common areas, so families with sensitivities should keep this in mind.
Darren was amazing, he made us feel comfortable and made the rental process easy and quick.
We love our new home.
What you are charged and what you receive in return is entirely not worth it. Once they have your signed lease, management and maintenance are almost entirely unresponsive. Moved in at the end of Summer and for the first two weeks, the AC wasn’t working, so we had to bring in a wall unit from our previous home. Instead of fixing our kitchen overhead fan, we were told to unplug the microwave it was attached to and replug it in when we were ready to use it. Office employees don’t seem to have a set schedule, despite the hours posted online, which doesn’t allow you to solve things in a timely matter. Not to mention the fact that they frequently don’t communicate with each other, resulting in huge headaches when another employee tells you the exact opposite of what you were promised by their co-worker the day prior. There’s also no security in the complex whatsoever and it doesn’t help that neighbors frequently leave the doors open to the hallways leading to individual apartments unlocked…that they sometimes hold open with YOUR OWN PACKAGES. There’s no assigned parking spots so good luck if you work nights — you will sometimes be parking blocks away from your door. Fees that fluctuate from month to month with pathetically vague explanations like “maintenance” pop up with your rent as well. I could go on for ages, but by far one of the most confounding things about the astronomical price you’re charged is the fact that neither of the 2 bedrooms or terrace in our unit had any overhead lighting, despite the fact that it clearly did once before, since they left all the light switches on the walls. And of course, as so many others have already pointed out, the garbage area is a mess and neighbors will consistently not even bring their trash out to the dumpster, but instead let it marinate in your hallway, which is already not properly cleaned. Final answer: they have the monopoly on Long Island because they are crooks.
As with many other residents to here, it is really frustrating to deal with management and especially the office staff looking after maintenance once your lease is signed. Beware of signing up as the price you pay and the service you get is disproportionate.
It has been nearly a month now and my maintenance request has been opened and nothing has been done.
Also, the maintenance admin person would close the maintenance request by making up something to get rid of it, and you have to go through numerous hurdles to get it reopened. He is also very rude when dealing with you in person, no greeting, doesn’t really acknowledge you and not wanting to help with anything.
Beware!!
DO NOT MOVE HERE – The absolute worst management company there is (see the below reviews as well). Do not let the newly renovated units and nice pool fool you. I have lived here for 2 years with consistent complaints to the property manager over the sanitation of their garbage and waste disposal. With numerous fines from the town, Fairfield refuses to do anything to keep the garbage sanitary other than an email to the residents to dispose of garbage properly. Doesn’t work. However, it is the responsibility of the management company to provide a system for tenants to adhere by (proper garbage bins, enclosures, appropriate cardboard boxes, consistent maintenance and clean up). Numerous tenants have suggested different solutions for their violating garbage system, but they choose to make their own decisions. The amount of animals, birds, and rodents drawn to the garbage is completely obscene. Not to mention the amount of debris under our vehicles, on the sidewalk and grass, and at my front door. The garbage comes twice a week with a total of four enclosures for the entire property. They need at lease six to avoid this level of mess. Their system is clearly not working and is pushing residents out of the community. However, it seems this is how they want to do business. Not good – Very unfortunate.
Not Family-Friendly – Strong Marijuana Smell, Management Does Nothing!
If you care about your family’s health, especially if you have kids, stay away from this place.
The buildings at Fairfield Jericho Townhomes are not smoke-free. Marijuana smoke constantly drifts into the apartments and common areas. I filed a complaint, and management replied that since marijuana is legal in New York, they will not prohibit it. In other words, they openly admit they cannot or will not protect residents from secondhand smoke exposure.
This is extremely disturbing in a community full of children and teenagers. Secondhand marijuana smoke is not harmless — it affects kids’ lungs, brains, and overall health. Any family-oriented housing should at least have a clear no-smoking policy to keep the environment safe.
Instead, management hides behind “it’s legal” and refuses to act, even though tenants are being forced to breathe toxic air in their own homes.
If you value clean air, health, and a safe environment for children, do not move here. There are much better options where management actually cares about residents.
