If you’re traveling with your canine companion along I-80 or looking for a dedicated spot to let your dog run free, West Wendover Dog Park offers spacious, fully fenced enclosures for both small and large dogs. Located at 1717 Florence Way in West Wendover, Nevada, this dog park is popular with travelers and locals alike for its convenient location and wide open spaces—perfect for burning off energy after a long trip.
The park features two separate fenced areas specifically for large and small dogs, providing a safe environment to play off-leash. You’ll find water sources available for pets, picnic tables, and benches for owner comfort. Bags and shovels are provided for easy clean-up, though visitors note the importance of doing your part to keep the park tidy. While there’s currently little shade and the surface is dirt rather than grass, ongoing improvements suggest more amenities may be added in the future. With ample space and free entry, West Wendover Dog Park is a convenient stop for dog lovers exploring pet-friendly parks in Nevada.

Two fenced areas, water for pets, and a picnic table. Free and never busy, so you really can’t ask for more.

We were just passing through town. I don’t think they’re done improving this park; looks like they want to add shade structures. It’s going to be a long time before the trees they planted come in. *And* I really hope they put in grass or turf. Pros: two large enclosures, one for small dogs, one for large. Cons: it’s just a dirt ground right now. The park was littered with poop, even though they provide bags and shovels! I would gladly re-rate the park after improvements are made.
