A little buggy, but was to be expected days after rain. Great trails, great woods, amazing in the morning, mid day and evening. Not a ton of fish, but if you have a boat, I would suggest bringing waders or a boat.

Love all of the parks here in Iowa. Big or small they all offer a great insight into history, nature, or a quiet respite from every day business as usual. Great hiking and sites to see here. Spent some time tromping the trails and bird watching. Well worth your time to stop and check out the sites and sounds.

This place was beautiful! The trails are so nice. We took the scenic Backbone trail, and it was fantastic. The trails and surrounding areas are pretty clean — not much trash. There was a Pavillion type set up on the land that was pretty clean with a fireplace and several picnic tables. It would be great for a family gathering. Near the Pavillion I found a potential arrowhead as well, which was exciting! We will definitely be back to hike more and do some trout fishing soon!
