quick and refreshing hike (about 50 mins round trip). The trail was scenic and shady, with a small waterfall at the end. Not too crowded, and the uphill parts made it feel like a real hike without being too strenuous. A lovely summer escape in the woods!
Beautiful hike to the falls – moderate intensity for me (65+ years old) and my husband (70+ yo) and our 12 year old Schnorkie dog on 6/21/25. Only downside was that a tree had recently fallen onto the bridge close to the end of the return loop, making it impassable, so we ended up making a somewhat scary crossing of the creek to get to the end of the trail. I reported it to the Landkeepers so hopefully the tree will be removed soon.
It’s not a difficult trail, but it’s one you should still walk at a leisurely pace. There’s plenty of benches to sit on along the way. It’s best to just enjoy the scenery and take breaks.
Beautiful hemlock forest leading to spectacular waterfall in the gorge. Parking is on the side of the road. Trail is well-marked and carefully maintained, there are several bridges and series of steps making hiking experience enjoyable. BNRC seems to make really good job at this particular site.
Such a lovely, well-maintained trail. Just over a mile total with a good amount of incline. Descend in, cross the bridge and then climb up to the observation toward to overlook the gorgeous glen/falls. Lots of wildflowers (in spring) and a luscious forest floor. Short and sweet.
