Beautiful woods walk to the edge of the Mattaponi River. It was mostly flat and took about 1.5 hours. I’m coming back in winter to watch the geese!

Great spot to get into nature. Please clean up after yourself. Enjoy the woods and water!!

Such a cool place! Since moving to King William we have visited and hiked the trails multiple times. The main path in and out is always well maintained. Look forward to exploring more and possibly hunting and fishing there in the future!

Excellent trails for hiking and horseback. I ride with my horse. It’s a lot of fine gravel so I suggest shoes, but can manage slower pace without. Lots of hunters is only negative. Has a nice covered picnic area overlooking the water for large groups. I don’t know details on renting it.

beautiful and quiet. met some nice ladies on horseback and was able to say hello to a handsome stallion. the view of the river is breathtaking. nice place for a picnic.
Parts of the trail is gravel, so wear proper shoes and keep an eye on your furry friend’s paws.
