🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Nosenzo Dog Park is a dedicated dog park in West Milford, New Jersey, located near Nosenzo Pond Road. This grassy park features a fenced-in area, allowing dogs to safely play off-leash. Local dog owners appreciate its relaxed and open atmosphere, making it a peaceful spot for those seeking less crowded conditions. While originally under development, the park now provides basic amenities to support visits with your pup.
The dog park includes a double-gated entry for added security, and recent improvements have introduced benches for owners to relax while their pets play. Waste bag dispensers and a trash can have been added to support cleanliness, although upkeep can vary depending on user responsibility. There is just one unified area for dogs, without separate sections for small and large breeds. Shade from mature trees is present during certain times of day, and there is ample parking available thanks to its location near local sports fields and a skate pavilion.
Park is awesome, friendly people,my dog’s Love it .
It’s disappointing because it seems like people do not clean up after their dogs here…
Very pretty place. I dont take my dog there very often, because there are no benches except way up on the hill.
Also the people there are very “clickish” and unfriendly.
This was mentioned to be the new town dog park, but it seems like it isnt finished yet. Work was last done on it in early 2018 and, other than grass mowing, nothing else has happened. There is a 4′ chain link fenced grassy rectangle (100′ x 50′?) with one entryway with double gates. The fence doesn’t reach all the way to the ground in all spots so watch tiny dogs. No division of space for large and small dogs, but you’re likely to be the only one there. No garbage facilities immediately be gate, no waste bags, no benches, no water, no signs. (SEE REVIEW UPDATE BELOW) Mostly sun and some late day shade. Plenty of parking as the soccer field isn’t in use yet. You might see a few skaters at the adjacent skatebord pavillion or tennis players on the courts across the street. Built in what was the picnic grove of the old CYO camp, with some of the old pines and larches remaining. So far, it is clean, no left behind poop. One wonders what will happen as it gets used and inevitability someone doesnt clean up after their dog – the site is sloped and next to a parking lot – is that where the effluent will run? With parents and kiddies watching games? Yuck. Its as if whoever designed/built it has never seen a dog park.
UPDATE 01.12.2019 –
There are now 2 benches (6′ +9′), a dog waste bag dispenser and a garbage can at this dog park. These appeared within the last week. Yay!
Dog park is kind of run down. The fence is not secured at the bottom in certain points, making it so a dog can push under it. People leave their trash and dog poop inside, the doggie bag station is empty, etc.
