🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Located in the northeast corner of Happy Hollow Park, this free public dog park in West Lafayette, IN offers a safe space for local canines to romp and play. The park is especially popular thanks to its double-gated entry for added safety, ensuring that dogs can enjoy off-leash time without the risk of escape. Visitors praise the friendly community atmosphere, pet-friendly trails, and the combination of a dedicated dog area with access to the park’s scenic walking paths.
While the park is not the largest, it is noted for allowing all dog sizes to mingle, as there are no separate small or large dog sections. Amenities include benches for owners, a low animal water fountain, and ample natural scenery and pet-friendly hiking options. However, agility equipment is currently minimal, and the park can get muddy near the entrance during wet weather. It’s the only free, public dog park in the area, making it a go-to spot for dog owners in West Lafayette.
I was looking forward to the park reopening so I could bringing my puppy there to experience the agility obstacles. However, all but one are gone ☹️. Hopefully they will reinstall them at a later date.
It was Very Nice and after I let Moan Play at the Dog Park we walked the Walk Path All tge Way Through the Park. Very Beautiful Sceanary for a Walk with your Dog in the Park.
This is a good sized dog park that’s free to the public. It has a nice double gate for entering and exiting making sure your dog doesn’t escape if someone else leaves and is a little slower with the gate. This park does also have a low animal water fountain and benches for people. Does need better care taken of the property though. Tall grass and weeds as well as broken equipment but no dangers to humans or animals.
Pretty cool area. The only complaint would be that they should put the water area further from the entrance. It fills up with water, and then you have to walk through mud entering and exiting the park. Other than that pretty cool area. Didn’t get to walk the trails. I will check those out, too next time.
New Dog Park ! Small in size but the dogs and dog owners are friendly !
There is not a separate section for Large dogs and Small Dogs. So all are allowed to play together.
Given the fact that there are no other free – public dog parks in the area, I feel this is the best park
