If you’re looking for a picturesque dog-friendly park in Wellsburg, West Virginia, 17th Street Park is a lovely local spot to consider. Set alongside the Ohio River, the park features spacious green areas, walking paths, and mature trees providing natural shade. The serene riverside views, wide open spaces, and abundant room to roam make this park a favorite for families and those wanting to enjoy the outdoors with their pets.
The park includes amenities such as baseball fields, a basketball court, tennis and pickleball courts, a playground for children, and picnic shelters. While not exclusively a dog park, the open fields and pet-friendly atmosphere make it a good place for leashed walks and social outings. Do note, however, that parking can be limited and may require a bit of a walk during busy events like baseball games.
Came for my sons’ baseball games. It’s a beautiful park, right along the river. Peaceful with a lovely view! Nice playground, shelter house, pickleball courts, baseball fields, & batting cages (not sure if those are open to public though). Restroom on site which is nice too. Only downside is the parking. I didn’t mind it, but it may be challenging for those who are unable to walk further distances.

Went to watch our grandson’s baseball game. Very nice park with several baseball fields, playground, and picnic shelter but absolutely NO PARKING. Had to park 3 blocks away. It was our first time at this park and it will be our last. We will not be back .
