Located right on the river in the heart of Washington, District of Columbia, Yards Park Splash Pool is a scenic spot perfect for families, pet owners, and anyone looking to cool off on a hot summer day. With wheelchair-accessible entrances, beautiful riverwalk views, and proximity to kid-friendly spaces, this park stands out as a vibrant destination for outdoor relaxation and recreation.
While not exclusively a dog park, pets are welcome to enjoy the open areas and scenic trails alongside the Anacostia River. The splash pool offers a refreshing environment on hot days, and visitors highlight the lively atmosphere, easy restroom access (with modern barcode entry), and stunning waterfront location. Don’t miss the illuminated bridge at night for a truly memorable experience in one of DC’s most pet-friendly outdoor spaces.
Pretty spot on the river
A great little area close to the waterfront and the riverwalk. We walked down here after a Nationals game and had a great time. Temperature was lovely and there were lots of people out enjoying and relaxing. Only downside was lots of weed smell in patches. The bridge was cool once the lights were on at night.
The restroom is around the corner when you follow the boardwalk. It’s free. You just need to scan the barcode w/ your phone.
