Thank you Oxon Run outdoor learning team and MPD Captain pictured here cleaning the snow for us to sit

I don’t believe I saw more than five people there. The place was literally deserted.
And I loved that! I ate my lunch there with my neighbor and we spent the better part of an hour there.
Next luncheon we do there I’m taking my Chess set.

Oxon Run Park is beautiful. I’m surprised to see so much greenery in DC. its definitely a hidden gem.

Oxon Run Park is the largest city-run public park and it’s one not to miss. It’s 128 acres of trails with running paths, playgrounds, exercise stations, murals, an amphitheater, a Thron Bathroom, and more. There aren’t any parking lots, but easy street parking nearby is convenient. Go in the Spring when the 200+ cherry trees blossom. Many are clones from the original cherry trees gifted to the U.S. by Tokyo in 1912.

I love this Oxon Run park where you can walk from Southern Ave, Md to Eastover, Md by walking through DC. On this path you can walk, bike, run or scooter. There are playgrounds, picnic tables, grills, SE tennis center, basketball courts,Thearc & garden center. Along the path are plants, trees, flowers & creek. It is peaceful.
