If you’re searching for a friendly, well-maintained dog park in Washington, District of Columbia, LeDroit Dog Park is a must-visit destination for you and your furry companion. Recently renovated, this park features upgraded fencing – including a puppy-proof section – and both a large, gravel-surfaced play area and a smaller enclosure perfect for petite pups. As a hub for local dog owners, it’s praised for its clean conditions and improvements such as fresh mulch surfacing, fixed drainage after rainfall, and welcoming regulars with friendly, socialized dogs.
The park offers convenient amenities, including a separate water fountain for dogs and ample upgraded seating in the large dog area, while the small dog section is more basic, so bringing your own water is a good idea. While shade is limited (especially on hot days), recent renovations have added some extra coverage. Well-behaved, fully vaccinated dogs of all sizes are regulars here, making LeDroit Dog Park a truly pet-friendly retreat in the heart of DC.
Nice since they redid the area last year.
Pretty good dog park. Not much shade which makes for a short visit for heat sensitive dogs, but there is a stainless bowl of water near a short fountain accessible. Lots of dogs come here and it’s a great variety that play together. Accessible and decent parking if you’re coming from out of DC.
It’s a gravel pit, nasty when wet however a good size and since I last visited the fencing has been puppy proofed?
The lower section has additional narrower banding.
Has smaller enclosure for smaller 🐕 ;0)
I went to the dog park here a few times. It’s a great size and has a separated large and small dog area. I was here in the winter and it rained a few times. The park is mostly gravel so it did not become muddy which was a plus. There’s no seating in the small dog area or a water fountain. They do have both in the big dog area. The owners were all very pleasant and the dogs well behaved. I would bring your own water if going. 2 people said the dogs became ill from drinking the water out of the fountain. There’s also aren’t a lot of balls to play with, so if no one is there your pup will be bored so come prepared.
The park has been newly renovated with fresh mulch surfacing, ample shade, upgraded seating, and a convenient doggie water fountain. Drainage issues have been fully resolved, ensuring the area stays dry and clean even after rain, making for a much more enjoyable experience for both pets and their owners.
