Lansburgh Dog Park is a quiet and moderately sized city dog park featuring separate areas for both small and large dogs, making it suitable for dogs of different sizes. The park has tall fences and offers mostly gravel, dirt, and some grass surfaces, with trees providing partial shade. Amenities include water fountains (though turned off in winter), seating benches, and a generally peaceful environment close to a large grassy campus. While it lacks a covered shelter and can get muddy after rain, it remains a good spot for a relaxed outing with your dog.

–SIZING–
Includes a big dog area & a small dog area. Both are about average size with tall fences.

–SURFACE–
Mostly gravel; some dirt/grass. There usually 1-2 holes that dogs tend to dig at.

–WATER–
Water spigot & bowl on-site. Turned off in winter.

–SHADE–
Trees provide shade over about a third of each area.

–INTERACTION–
Usually some communal balls in the big dog area, but it’s otherwise rather Spartan.

–ENVIRONMENT–
A quiet park other than frequent helicopter flyovers.

–SEATING–
Two benches in each area.

–COMMUNITY–
Usually a good crowd, especially on workday late-afternoons, though there’s 1 dog specifically that’s often there ~4:30-5pm that tends to be prone to escalation.

Was on a vacation and this was the closest dog park to our hotel. It’s not terribly large but worked for what we needed. It did have a small/large dog separation. Unfortunate that it’s all dirt which leads to mud. It would be nice to have more grass. Otherwise I like the water fountain so the dogs could easily get fresh water. Also had benches if needed. Wouldn’t make it a return if I had other options.

Nice, quiet, and clean. Good sized city dog park with separation for large and small dogs. Perfect for my older dog because it’s less trafficked than other parks and he’s a little too old to play rough anymore. Only big con is that it’s all dirt so gets very muddy after rain or snow. There’s also a mosquito problem but that’s everywhere in DC. The surrounding park is gorgeous and has a little community garden area.

Very basic outdoor space next to a huge police parking lot and an empty park filled with overflowing garbage pails and trash everywhere. No other dogs were there. They did have a working water fountain for the dogs!

Great neighborhood dog park. Usually quiet, at least in the evenings when I go. I lived near Audi stadium, so the walk to this park was perfect to stretch our legs, and the park was a great reward stop. The park is large, and it’s also on a large grass campus, great for just walking around and getting some good sniffs. They usually have running water available, as well.
