Guy Mason Recreation Center Dog Park is a popular, pet-friendly destination in the heart of Washington, District of Columbia. Located near Wisconsin Avenue, this dog park offers a safe, fenced space for your furry friends to enjoy off-leash playtime. With plenty of shade, benches, and water fountains, both pets and their owners can stay comfortable while socializing or relaxing. The park is lauded for its separation of areas for large and small dogs, ensuring a fun and safe experience for pups of all sizes.
This accessible dog park is also a great spot for families, as it is situated within a recreation center that features a playground, baseball field, and more. Waste bags and dispensers are available for easy cleanup, and the park’s wheelchair accessible entrances and parking make it convenient for everyone to visit. Please be mindful after rain, as the wood chip base may get muddy. Enjoy a lively community vibe with well-behaved dogs and a welcoming atmosphere!
Avoid after rains but great place for large and small dogs
It nice for kids and bogs to play like how they separate the 2. It was a nice day when I went
Dog park is great, most dog are well behaved. At least much better than the DC employees inside the building.
Still a dismal facility despite an alleged NULLM renovation in 2012. Building is cira 1902. Relatively new elevator breaks down on a regular basis. Since Covid, the Center’s hours are still extremely limited, and there don’t seem to be any plans to expand hours back to pre-Covid opening times. The plumbing constantly breaks down too. The Center staff tries to make the best of a bad situation, and they are hampered by an unsupportive headquarters. Overall, it’s a tragically under-utilized building that’s not being used to its full potential.
Nice little park just off Wisconsin with plenty of shade and other amenities like water fountains, benches, shade, and bag dispensers. Gave 4 instead of 5 since I’m personally not a huge fan of the wood chip base.
