Located at 101 S 5th St in Warrenton, the Warrenton Dog Park is a go-to spot for local dog lovers seeking a safe, welcoming space for their pets to run and socialize. This fenced-in dog park in Warrenton, Virginia, offers visitors grassy areas, a double-gated entrance system for added security, and a community atmosphere where dogs and owners alike enjoy making new friends. The park sits conveniently next to a paved walking trail, perfect for extending your adventure with some dog-friendly hiking.
The Warrenton Dog Park is wheelchair accessible, both at the entrance and in the parking area. A water fountain is available—though it’s important to note it may be shut off during frost, so plan accordingly in the colder months. The park operates on an honor system, with clear posted rules to keep everyone safe. Its friendly, community-focused setting makes it a beloved spot for dog owners in the area.
My 1st impression….not. Not being from the area, I began to wonder where this place was. It was at the end of a street & there were a bunch of service trucks in the lot. We were fostering a dog & thought a great place to meet the adopters was here. However, it was closed. Wasn’t reopening until May 15. Really? How ridiculous. Comparably speaking, it’s a small dog park with grass. I’m use to a large park with mulch. Much easier to clean up after your dog.
Best therapy in town for me and the dog I’m fostering. Wonderful socializing with good people who love their fur babies as much as I do. I pray they never close it down. Just wish the water fountain wasn’t closed at first frost. As we all know, VA fall weather fluctuates frequently
Recently added this place, and now I ALWAYS stop in Warrenton! Perfect fenced-in area next to a paved walking trail that runs for a fair ways. We’ve never walked the entire length, so uncertain, but certainly enough for a stretch of the legs, plenty of sniffing and peeing for your fur babies to enjoy.
Rigby and I love the park. I love the gate system, double lock chute system so no one escapes. The water fountain is back on, and when it was off many dog parents left bottles of water so it was never an issue. There is a huge hole (not dog created) and a few spots that are all gravel. Otherwise it’s wonderful. Dogs and owners are almost always very nice, and the few dogs we’ve met that were just learning to socialize have had parents that maintained control.
Nice park. It’s by the honor system. But many don’t follow the posted rules!
Guy admitted his dog was in heat, that’s why she was aggressive!
But sign at entrance clearly states NO dog in heat!!
Some brought human food in.
I hate to point my finger at anyone, but may do it next time.
I believe in safety first before being “liked”
