This park was created after the High School was torn down. It has been kept up very well by the town. The open air pavilion is a great place to have an event and has restroom available. The park has a beautiful garden, a baseball field, tennis courts, and a sand volleyball court. There is also a walking trail around the edge of the park. It also features an military memorial at the East end of Main Street. There is a large gravel parking lot.

We live here in Wapella. We have to drive 30-60 min to other parks that are accessible and inclusive. Really wish they would update so we can play at our town park. We walk on the trail while our son rides his bike and he has to look at a park that he can’t use without adult assistance. He’s almost 8 years old he doesn’t like that anymore. The woodchips are barrier to him. No inclusive pieces. No ramps. That gives a message to those with disabilities aren’t allowed to play here. Be the change and make a difference. Our schools in Clinton take field trips here. Schools in Clinton need to do better also. Accessibility and inclusion shouldn’t be up for debate. Everyone deserves to play!

This is a lovely park with a beautiful veterans memorial honoring the men and women who served our country.

This park seemed like the town put a lot of money into it. The playground equipment was fairly new. The pavilion appeared new or well maintained as well. But it seems as if they let it go. The playground was originally mulched but at this point it’s more weeds than mulch. The wildflower garden has been let go too. The parking lot has some deep puddles.

I was in town to do a job. Stopped by to use the restroom. I was surprised the door was unlocked. I was even more surprised by how clean it was.

It was cleaner than some of the rest areas the state offers that are supposed to be maintained and cleaned by employees paid with taxpayer money.

Two thumbs up Wapella! 👍👍
