Jones Beach Field 2 is a popular destination for locals and visitors looking to enjoy a refreshing beach experience in Wantagh, New York. Visitors praise the clean, soft white sand, beautiful clear water, and relaxing coastal atmosphere. The park features a convenient blue walkway from the parking lot to the beachfront, making it easy for guests to bring their pets and belongings right down to the water’s edge. The beach is well-maintained, with impressive amenities such as lifeguards on duty, nearby restrooms and showers, and a parking lot with attendants. The area’s scenic beauty and accessible pathways make it a favorite for families and pet owners wanting a spot to relax, play, and enjoy pet-friendly trails or a stroll along the water. Although there’s no specific mention of specialized fenced-in dog areas, Jones Beach Field 2 is recognized for being a comfortable, dog-friendly spot near Wantagh for both locals and tourists alike.
Beautiful! 200yd walk from parking lot to beach. Bathrooms and showers at the parking lot.
LOVED the lifeguards! They were helpful and on top of everything!
Waves were bigger and my kids loved it!
Not from New York and this was my first time going to this beach. It was a great experience. From the parking attendant, lifeguards to the concession staff 10/10. The water was a bit chilly, but the sand was clean. I felt very comfortable sitting and playing on the sand. It wasn’t to crowded, of course we arrived a lil after 2pm on a Saturday. People were very friendly as well. The only negative experience was the long walk from the parking lot to the beachfront. However, there is a nice walkway which allows easy passage over the sand. I still give it five stars!
The water is clear, the sand is soft, and the whole vibe is peaceful and relaxing. It’s the kind of place where you can just breathe and enjoy the moment. Perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or just listening to the waves.
It’s becoming harder to enjoy the beach walkways with all the people on bikes, ignoring signs to yield to pedestrians. Signs are posted everywhere to stop and WALK bike on sidewalks. Not only do they continue to ride but at speeds as if they’re in the Tour de France race. The attitude of people on bikes “Rules Don’t Apply.” They also ride onto the scenic overlook boardwalk. Disgusting.
This used to be a dreaded Beach due to the distance between the parking lot and the water. However this year the state parks department has installed a very helpful blue walkway from the parking lot to the water that makes walking dragging a chair rolling a cart a dream. The day that I went the sand was white and the water look like the Caribbean.
